launching his latest collection to an exclusive audience noted menswear designer Christian Kimber did his Australian Fashion Week presentation a little differently and I have to say I loved it! Book-ending a lavish four course dinner at Sydney’s acclaimed Chin-Chin restaurant the panel discussion and runway lead by the designer himself and his newest works offered guests a chance to not only see the brand but hear about the concept, as well as the designers take on modern masculinity, menswear and his direction! As a historically reasonless brand the talented designer has always designed for the modern, aspirational Australian lifestyle and has since inception become known for his effortlessly chic, luxury designs in a market under-represented.
The brands newest range offers complete looks designed to address every scenario in the everyday life of the contemporary Australian man – think boating on the bay followed by lunch in Milsons Point, rugging up for walks along the Esplanade in St. Kilda before dining at Stokehouse, day trips to waterside wineries on the west coast, and beach trips up north and you’d be in the realm of where this talented craftsman is for the launch of this new range – but more than where it’s the how that won me over! Made with bespoke fabrications, and colourways designed specifically for our natural surroundings, active and outdoorsy habits, as well as our unique climate the range not only takes into account where we are going but actively works to keep you looking and feeling your best no matter what the occasion and whether its a button-down short-sleeve knit, a dress short, a utility vest or a luxurious cashmere-blend coat this curated range seemed to have something for everyone.
If you weren’t lucky enough to get an invite to Christian Kimber‘s Australian Fashion Week presentation, showcase and dinner then don’t worry I have a look below at some of my favourite pieces and looks from the night itself, as well as the new “resort” range of clothing on offer that you can get for yourself or your favourite man – so what are you waiting for?
