Unfolding from an effortlessly dramatic silk gown through a range of delicate colour progressions in silhouettes of generous proportions the Ginger & Smart resort runway at this years Australian Fashion Week not only further showcased the distinctive narrative the brand has built, that of transformative power of fashion to express a sense of optimism, but also allowed those both at the show and watching the freedom to again dream and dream big – of a time away where these pieces would flourish and become staple wears on overseas holidays where we can again live, make memories and start a-new after the chaos that has encapsulated the world. Capturing a confident romantic mood amplified by exaggerated proportions the collection offered us an elevated and bold expression that merged the graphic with the botanic and allowed us to see the sunlight at the end of a dreary tunnel we all seem to have been living in.
Designed to layer with textures and colours tailored to your emotions the range offers a conscious look at fashion wears made with sustainability at the forefront of the design-duos minds. Trans-seasonal pieces like that of the vanilla silk trench show the simplicity of restraint alongside voluminous versions of ready-to-wear pieces that allowed tucks and folds in hidden layers of silk organza, designed to roll and undulate effortlessly with the body which showcased the capture and release of light and shade – embracing modernity and modern femininity and more, the creation of physical masterpieces which reflect the world we live in.
