Last night I was treated to a night out at the opera, insides Sydney’s iconic Opera House, thanks to the Kadimah Yiddish theatre as they took on the iconic film adaptation of the play Yentl. Putting their unique new spin on a classic story by Nobel prize winning laureate Isaac Bashevis Singer the story re-tells an ode to the feminist undertones and queer subtext in the original story in a very modern way allowing for past and new viewers to experience this modern masterpiece and true age-old story in a way that sees new light shone on it!
